A word flies at you across the court. Type it before the ball crosses your baseline and you hit it back — the opponent returns it, and every shot leaves you a little less time than the one before. Every five shots the words grow longer. A wrong key is never accepted, but it speeds the ball up; four wrong keys on the same ball lose the point. Rally mode ends when your three points are gone, while Tiebreak runs on the clock and plays on after a lost point.
